My Journey into EOTAS: Creating Meaningful Learning Experiences

Education isn’t one-size-fits-all. Over the years, I’ve seen first-hand
how traditional school settings can work wonderfully for some children while being completely unmanageable for others. My journey into providing EOTAS (Education Other Than At School) resources began with a deep understanding of this reality—particularly for children with autism, PDA, and other additional learning needs.
I’ve worked in early childhood education, social care, and specialist support, always driven by the belief that learning should be engaging, flexible, and built around a child’s strengths. Many families I’ve encountered have faced the same challenges: navigating a rigid system that doesn’t always adapt to their child’s needs. That’s where EOTAS can make a difference.
With this in mind, I set out to create learning resource boxes that go beyond worksheets and tick-box exercises. Each box is designed to provide a broad and balanced curriculum, tailored to students’ interests while covering essential skills in English, Maths, and ICT. Parents and personal assistants can use these resources to create a structured but enjoyable learning experience—one that works with, rather than against, a child’s natural curiosity and abilities.
I know that stepping outside the traditional education model can feel overwhelming, but with the right support and resources, it can open up new opportunities. My goal is to make learning accessible, achievable, and, most importantly, meaningful for every child who engages with our resources.
If this resonates with you, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Let’s rethink learning together!
